FALL IN NEW ENGLAND
This year the Fall colors are magnificent. This was taken in Wollaston right around the corner from my house, the lazy wo'man's way, from my car as I was headed to work! I believe these are mighty oaks, why would I know for sure, I have only known them my entire life? The oaks in my neighborhood are so awesome; we have lost some along the way. I wish someone had thought to put the telephone lines underground, as my street, lined with maples has been hard hit by the yearly pruning to accommodate the lines; not many maples have been able to survive the abuse! Our yearly ritual was my mother nearly lying down in front of the city truck, absolutely refusing to let them touch "her tree" but sadly even her tree has fallen. The city did replace it more than five years back now, and this past summer I gave up on the hope that it would grow high enough for me to stop banging my head on the lowest branch; I had to perform surgery! These new trees apparently haven't any growth hormones in them! The signs around town still say "Tree City USA" and from the air, it still looks very green, but down here it looks so bare, monfrare. I miss George Carlin!

Abe you got quite a response over your dollar bill! That was really a neat thought. I do have faith the dollar is on its way up!
